Questions people ask, and the way to reach us.
- Nothing shows up.
- Tilograph needs access to your Photos library: Settings → Apps → Tilograph → Photos → Full Access. With Limited Access it shows only what you picked.
- How do I zoom out to everything?
- Pinch out, or tap the fit button at the bottom right. Pinch in to get closer.
- Where did a deleted picture go?
- To Recently Deleted in Photos, where it stays for thirty days. Settings has a shortcut to it.
- How do I add files?
- Tap Files at the bottom, then the plus. Pick a folder, or several, from any drive the Files app shows. Nothing is copied; the files stay where they are.
- Does deleting a file delete it from the drive?
- Only if you turn on “Allow deleting files” in Settings and confirm. Remove takes a folder off the canvas without touching the drive.
- A video plays the wrong way up.
- Open it and tap Turn, next to the heart. Each tap turns it a quarter. The file is not changed.
- What is Wander?
- The canvas walks itself through a year, a month or everything, playing videos as it lands on them. A touch stops it. The screen stays on while it runs.
- What is it reading, and why does it take so long?
- The first time, Tilograph looks at every picture once: the faces in it, what it shows, its colours, and a print of it for finding lookalikes. That is what lets the canvas arrange by person or subject, light up a search for “dog” or “beach 2019”, and find duplicates. It is done on the phone, by the phone, and nothing is sent anywhere, which is why a big library takes a while: a few thousand pictures is minutes, over ten thousand can be half an hour. It paces itself so the phone stays cool, runs while the app is open, pauses when it is not, carries on where it left off, and goes faster on a charger. You can use the app the whole time; people, subjects and search fill in as it goes. It never has to be done twice.
